Primary K - 2nd
EdVentures' programs cultivate self-confidence, creativity, and a passion for learning by emphasizing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that encourages productive learning, critical thinking, and innovation in a fun and supportive space. Our curriculum and instructional practices embrace a quality-over-quantity approach. We believe students thrive when they are fully engaged and suitably challenged, without being bombarded with excess busywork. We use the Orton Gillingham phonics approach in our 'learn to read' program. Our curriculum across all subjects is engaging and hands-on. It is structured enough to cover the core skills and standards, yet flexible enough to adapt instruction and assignments to meet students' interests and abilities. We understand the importance of breaks and social interaction, therefore, we offer a balanced 'work hard, play hard' schedule where all groups, no matter their age, benefit from a 30-minute outdoor playtime in the morning, along with a generous hour-long outdoor break for lunch and play time.
Our flexible attendance options allow you to choose a program that meets your family's needs, style, and schedule!

ELA
Our ELA program is geared to learning to read, write, and comprehend literature and informational text effectively. Our science-backed Orton Gillingham phonics program offers explicit, systematic, multisensory instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, basic grammar concepts, letter formation, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, ensuring our students become strong and confident readers and writers!
Science / Social Studies
The content-based subjects of science and social studies culminate our day and provide an opportunity to explore exciting, standards-inspired topics through hands-on labs and fun investigations!

Learning to Read, Write, & Spell
The key focus in the primary years is to develop effective and efficient readers and writers; therefore, most of the in-class learning during the ELA block of our “Essentials Hybrid” is devoted to structured literacy activities. Our science-backed Orton Gillingham phonics curriculum offers explicit, systematic, multisensory instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, basic grammar concepts, letter formation, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students also enjoy literature studies to develop comprehension, analysis, and vocabulary skills (teacher-curated), writing and composition (Building Writers, Learning Without Tears), and grammar (Evan Moore – 2nd+).
Literature and Comprehension
Students in the expansion program enjoy a robust literature and language arts curriculum (Mentor Text Club) that provides a platform for developing and deepening comprehension strategies, understanding story structure, analyzing and responding to literature and informational texts, integrated grammar concepts, and more. Students will love this engaging curriculum that offers literature-inspired STEM projects, art, drama, craftivities, and more!
Science
Our hands-on science curriculum (Elemental Science) offers students an immersive and robust learning experience. Through engaging informational readings, interactive labs, journaling, drawing, and creative projects, students develop a deep understanding of key scientific concepts. Each year focuses on one specific area of science, allowing for an in-depth exploration of biology, chemistry, physics, or earth science. By the time students complete their journey with us, they have gained a comprehensive, age-appropriate foundation in these core scientific disciplines, fostering curiosity and a love for discovery.
Social Studies
Students in the primary years thrive with our teacher-curated social studies curriculum, which takes them on an exciting journey of discovery. Through rich literature, engaging informational texts, and a variety of hands-on activities and crafts, young learners build a strong foundation of content knowledge while developing a deeper understanding of their state and country. Aligned with the GA Standards for Excellence, our curriculum emphasizes one overarching concept per year. Kindergarten and 1st-grade students explore the Foundations of America and American Heritage, while 2nd-grade students focus on Georgia, My State. These big ideas cultivate curiosity and foster a love for learning, helping students connect historical and cultural concepts to their own lives.
Beyond Worksheets
Learning becomes truly impactful when students can engage, explore, and interact with concepts in meaningful ways. Our program strikes a thoughtful balance between direct instruction, traditional paper-and-pencil practice, and dynamic hands-on activities. From interactive games to creative projects or immersive labs, every element of our curriculum combines workbook-based learning with practical, real-world applications.
Primary Expansion Days
Our 2-Day Expansion Program is the perfect complement to our 2-Day Hybrid, offering concept and fluency building in math, reading, and literature. Students develop creativity and critical thinking through engaging, project-based learning, including STEM challenges, art, craftivities, and more! This dynamic program reinforces foundational skills while inspiring curiosity and a love for hands-on exploration.

Math Lab
Primary Math Lab is a hands-on, engaging learning experience geared to multi-aged learners and designed to build math fluency through play-based activities and interactive exploration. Using math games, manipulatives, and real-world problem-solving, students develop a strong foundation in key concepts such as geometry, money, measurement, time, and number sense. This lab encourages critical thinking and mathematical reasoning while making learning fun and meaningful. Through small-group collaboration and teacher-guided challenges, students gain confidence and deepen their understanding of essential math skills in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Tale Trekkers
Our hands-on literature block brings stories to life through cross-curricular, theme-based learning that sparks creativity and critical thinking! Students dive into captivating books, analyze story structure, and explore a variety of concepts and themes through STEAM projects, art, and hands-on "craftivities." Readers Theater adds an interactive, dramatic flair, helping to develop fluency and confidence in reading while fostering teamwork and collaboration. This dynamic approach ensures a well-rounded experience where literature becomes a gateway to discovery and innovation.
Enrichment Hour
Afternoons are filled with fun and discovery as students take their literature-based learning to new levels through related STEM activities, project based learning, and art!
Productivity Periods
Students will be offered short "productivity" periods during each subject rotation to complete home study assignments assigned during our hybrid program. Students who do not attend the our hybrid may bring assignments from home to complete in class.

UNDERSTANDING GA LAW
Georgia law requires that all homeschooling families submit an annual Declaration of Intent to Homeschool. Parents must provide their learner with instruction in four core subjects of ELA, math, science, and social studies. Students must receive 4.5 hours of learning opportunities for 180 days per year. There are no mandated instructional hours or standards in any given subject, nor are there any mandatory graduation requirements for homeschoolers aside from being 16 years old. Students must take a standardized test every three years (starting in 3rd grade) and families must write an annual progress summary. While the law provides a lot of liberties to homeschoolers, most families seeking our services generally want their child to receive quality, standards-aligned instruction in the core subjects in a relaxed, hands-on, creative setting that embraces the experience of family and childhood, while fostering independence, creativity, critical thinking, friendships, a sense of community, and self-confidence.
It is important to note that only the 5-day track meets the instructional hours requirement, meaning families must continue the learning process at home. Home learning can include our supplied home study curriculum (C4 program only), enrichment classes, or any other learning activities such as field trips, sports, cooking, reading, music lessons, language classes, reading activities, science experiments, etc. Both the Core 4 and Deep Learning programs offer instruction in the mandated subjects. The Core 4 program aligns to Georgia Standards for Excellence, while the Deep Learning programs support the standards in a more broad-scope fashion.
Students enrolled in our Core 4 program will receive 2 days of home study, mid-year conferences,
and an annual progress summary. We do not currently offer standardized testing.
