REGISTRATION & PAYMENT: This registration is for the fall semester only. Spring registration will be open to con Registration is a 2-part process for NEW families. There is a one-time $30 registration fee to participate in any EdVentures enrichment classes, which is due at the time of booking. Current/returning families should enroll via OSH to avoid this fee. 1. Please complete & submit this form to reserve your child's space. 2. Once your account is approved, your child will be added to the roster and you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance. Your space is secure upon receipt of the full payment. DESCRIPTION: FALL: This 90-minute class is geared to DEVELOPING READERS & WRITERS AGES 6-8 who are working at the early 1st grade level. We will cover short vowels, blends, diagraphs, magic e, fluency, comprehension, and spelling. This class is perfect for students who would benefit from extra reading support or for those attending schools that do not offer an OG approach. SPRING: For those continuing in the spring, we will cover vowel teams (i.e. EA, OO, etc.), Dates: Fridays - August 31 - December 7th, 2024 Total Sessions: 13 No Classes: October 12 & November 30 Cost: $500 + $30 one-time registration fee - INSTALLMENT PLAN AVAILABLE Homework: 30 - 60 minutes per week; optional PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Multisensory Techniques: Our program utilizes sight, sound, touch, and movement to teach essential reading skills, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging learning experience. Phonemic Awareness: Students will develop a strong foundation in phonemic awareness, learning to recognize and manipulate the sounds within words. Decoding and Encoding: Through systematic instruction, children will master the skills of decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) words, building their confidence and competence in reading. Structured Literacy: The Orton-Gillingham approach emphasizes structured literacy, focusing on the alphabetic principle, syllable types, and spelling rules, which are taught in a clear and sequential manner. Interactive Activities: Our class incorporates fun and interactive activities, such as games and hands-on learning tools, to reinforce reading skills and keep students engaged.
