HYBRID LEARNING PROGRAMS
MONDAY - THURSDAY
All of our homeschool hybrid programs use a specialized blend of multisensory reading approaches in our ELA blocks, including Orton Gillingham (phonics) and elements from Lindamood Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing (Comprehension). The core focus of ELA in kindergarten through 3rd grade is learning to read, write, and spell effectively. In addition, we offer a "4th/5th Foundations"cohort specifically designed for students who would benefit from continued phonics and reading instruction.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
AFTER SCHOOL/WEEKENDS
Individualized reading instruction sessions are offered to students who require reading intervention or additional support. Tutoring and instruction is available during the day, after school, and/or on weekends with a variety of instructors. Since each child is unique, we conduct an initial assessment to identify the most suitable instructional approach for your child using one of our evidence-based programs such as Orton Gillingham for encoding and decoding or Visualizing and Verbalizing for comprehension.

STRUCTURED, SEQUENTIAL, MULTISENSORY
We offer a variety of mid-week reading programs for homeschoolers, as well as after school/weekend support for students in traditional education settings such as private and public school. Our specialized programs arm students with the tools and strategies needed to help them become strong, confident, independent readers. These programs serve as an exceptional springboard for new and budding readers, while also providing top-of-the-line support and intervention for struggling readers and/or students presenting with reading challenges, dyslexia, hyperlexia, dysgraphia, language processing disorders, or more.

🔤 Orton-Gillingham Approach: Phonics, Decoding, Fluency, Writing, Spelling
This program offers an explicit, structured, sequential, multi-sensory method that targets reading difficulties head-on. Our trained teachers use a step-by-step approach, focusing on phonemic awareness (understanding sounds in language), recognizing phonemes (hearing and reading sounds in isolation), decoding (sounding-out words), encoding (spelling using explicitly taught spelling rules), fluency, and comprehension, to ensure students become strong and confident readers.
💬 Lindamood-Bell Visualizing & Verbalizing: Comprehension, Language Development, Critical Thinking
Does your child read fluently, but seem to struggle with answering questions related to the text? Or does everything your child reads seem to"go in one ear and out the other?" This program takes a structured and sequential approach to guiding your child through visualization, verbalization, and other sensory-cognitive processes that strengthen reading comprehension, language development, and critical thinking.
🖋️ Handwriting without Tears: Fine Motor Development, Letter Formation, Automaticity in Writing
This program employs fun and effective strategies to improve fine motor skills and letter formation without frustration. This program blends engaging fine-motor building activities such as working with clay or squeezing slime with sequential and structured processes to build the strength and stamina needed for proper letter formation and writing assignments.

PRIVATE READING INSTRUCTION
Personalized instruction to help your child thrive...
Looking for specialized instruction, support, or intervention in reading, spelling, writing, and/or comprehension? EdVentures offers in-person instruction to homeschoolers, as well as students in traditional education programs. We are not a traditional "tutoring" service and we do not help with day-to-day schoolwork. Rather, we provide specialized reading instruction using quality, evidence-based programs that target specific reading skills and challenges using an explicit, structured, sequential, multisensory approach. Our program identifies learning gaps and begins instruction from the bottom-up, ensuring that students receive the most comprehensive experience possible. Once these gaps are addressed, students will be able to translate reading improvements to overall success in school.
What to expect
All families will be asked to come in for a consultation to determine their child's learning needs and goals. The child will then complete a comprehensive reading assessment that evaluates fluency, phonemic awareness, decoding (sounding out words), encoding (spelling), handwriting, comprehension, and higher-order thinking skills.
At this point, your child will be paired with the instructor who would best match your child's needs and learning style. Your child's instructor will put together an instructional plan for your child based on their exact placement within one, or more, of our specialized programs.
Instructors
Instructors are all current or retired teachers who are highly trained in our specialized programming. Instructors are independent contractors and not employees of EdVentures.
Hours of Availability
We currently offer private instruction Monday through Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons. If you need a time that is not listed, we will try to find an instructor for you.
Pricing
Instructional packages are based on the level and hours of intervention needed. Packages are billed per semester; monthly installments are available. Families are asked to give a 30-day notice to withdraw.
