Friday Quests is a drop-off homeschool enrichment program designed for students 2nd grade through 10th grade that runs through the school year! Friday Quests may be taken as an add-on to our EdVentures or Weatherstone academic hybrids or as a stand-alone program open to homeschoolers in the community.
In addition to holidays and breaks, there are five scheduled closures to accommodate our Family Field Trip program. Closures are listed on our calendar which can be found on our Parent Page.

Are You Ready for the Challenge?
Fridays are built differently at Weatherstone Academy!
Arrival: We start with the "Pitcher's Mound" where teachers pitch upcoming quests & workshops!
Morning Quests: Students select two morning Quests per month (see below!). Each Quest offers monthly themes with a variety of activities, real-life challenges, and skill-building opportunities to enjoy!

Afternoon Workshops: Afternoon Workshops offer a mix of teacher-guided and student-directed activities. Students select their desired workshop each week based on their current whim and fancy!

Social Breaks: Snack, Lunch, & Recess!
Students enjoy a 30 minute snack and recess break between Quests and an hour for lunch and free play!

MORNING QUESTS
Each Quest features a new unit or focus each month! For instance, Life Skills may offer cooking one month and sewing the next, while STEM may offer Scratch Programming followed by Rube Goldberg designs! Students in 4th grade and up self-select two Quests per month, while students in 2nd and 3rd grade will move as a unit and will rotate through all four Quests over a two-month cycle. This allows all students to enjoy a variety of experiences through the year!
OUTDOOR PURSUITS
Craft, construct, create, and conquer! Participate in local pond water testing, pitch a tent, build a lean-to, craft your own fishing line or bow and arrow, fashion a stretcher from a tarp and logs, or test your skills in Capture the Flag! Outdoor Pursuits equips you with hands-on skills for outdoor adventure, survival, and real-world problem-solving.
LIFE SKILLS
We’re taking home-economics into the 21st century! Learn hands-on life skills that actually matter: create a budget, cook a meal, bake a cake, create task-lists, learn fire safety, test out cleaning hacks, and tackle real-world challenges. Life Launch gives students the practical skills, confidence, and problem-solving experience they need to thrive—in school, at home, and beyond.
PERFORMING ARTS
Lights, camera, action! Performing Arts is all about storytelling, drama, improv, and bringing creative ideas to life. Students will explore characters, scenes, and storytelling techniques while learning to think on their feet, work together, and build confidence. Along the way, they’ll have the chance to create and film their own stories, taking an idea from the first spark of inspiration all the way to a finished film!
STUDIO ARTS
Grab a brush, pick up a pencil, and let your creativity run wild! Studio Arts takes students on a monthly rotation through drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, mixed media, and more. Students will try new techniques, experiment with different materials, and create everything from colorful masterpieces to three-dimensional works of art. No two projects are alike—and there’s always something new to make, explore, and imagine!
STEM QUEST
Explore the world through scientific thinking, engineering, and technology! Students will investigate how and why things work through hands-on challenges—from building clocks and programming with Scratch to working with 3D printing to design or engineering their own Rube Goldberg machine. Students will also explore exciting experiments like elephant toothpaste, uncovering the science behind spectacular reactions. STEM Quest is all about asking questions, testing ideas, solving problems, and building something new!
MUSIC QUEST
We are thrilled to offer on-campus group music classes through Music by Tri-Tone, owned by one of our wonderful Weatherstone families! Music Quest is an introduction to band and instrumental music taught by professional career musicians, giving students the opportunity to build a strong foundation in music theory, rhythm, and performance while exploring a variety of instruments throughout the year. Students will rotate through keyboard, ukulele, percussion, strings, and more, developing musical skills and discovering the instruments they enjoy most. The experience will also prepare students for future participation in single-instrument ensembles or traditional band programs. Additional Fee: $72.50 per month.

AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS
Afternoon Workshops are all about freedom of choice! Students can choose from a variety of hands-on workshops based on their interests, giving them the opportunity to explore new skills, dive deeper into favorite subjects, or discover something completely new. They can also take a break in the Community Room, relax, play a game, read, or simply chat and hang out with friends. With a mix of creative, active, academic, and practical experiences—and plenty of room to choose their own adventure—students can make their afternoon their own! Students remain in their selected workshop for the duration of the afternoon block. While most workshops are available week-to-week, some may offer multi-week or semester-long commitments.
COMMUNITY ROOM
After a full morning of guided activity, enjoy unstructured time in the Community Room socializing with friends, building Lego, crafting, jewelry making, playing board games, and more! This is your time to relax, build friendships, and enjoy some indoor fun!
SPANISH (FULL SEMESTER/YEAR)
Explore Spanish through conversation, culture, games, and hands-on activities! Students build practical vocabulary and communication skills while discovering the music, traditions, food, stories, and everyday life of Spanish-speaking cultures. Through interactive activities and real-world practice, students gain confidence using Spanish in a fun, engaging environment. This workshop is designed as a full year experience.
OPEN STUDIO
Create, experiment, and make something uniquely yours! This art-focused studio blends creativity with hands-on making through guided art projects, creative challenges, and plenty of room for student-led ideas. Students explore a variety of materials, techniques, and artistic styles while developing creativity, design thinking, problem-solving, and confidence—with the freedom to take an idea from imagination to finished creation.
WOODSHOP
Woodshop gives students the chance to work with real tools and materials as they learn the basics of woodworking, construction, measuring, cutting, sanding, and assembly. Students will tackle guided projects while also having opportunities to design and build their own creations. It’s hands-on learning that develops practical skills, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and confidence—with something tangible to show for it!
GAME-ON!
Get outside, get moving, and have some fun! Students enjoy friendly competition and active outdoor games like Capture the Flag, Noodle Tag, Kickball, Four Square, Ultimate Frisbee, and Sharks & Minnows, along with active free-choice activities such as basketball, soccer, ping-pong, or air hockey! Or, enjoy a more leisurely experience playing in the forest, birdwatching, designing with side-walk chalk, and more!
SPECIALTY WORKSHOPS
In addition to our standard workshop rotations, specialty workshops will be offered periodically throughout the year. These unique, hands-on experiences may explore a wide range of interests and skills—from furniture restoration and cake decorating to drone coding or fishing! Some Specialty Workshops may require an additional fee to cover specialized materials, equipment, or instructor costs.
