PROGRAM FRAMEWORK

Weatherstone Academy builds on the heart of EdVentures while taking learning to the next level!

Designed for Intermediate, Middle, and High School students, our program blends strong academics with dynamic enrichment in a balanced, engaging environment. Core instruction is thoughtfully tailored to each learner, providing the right level of challenge or support while building confidence and growth. In high school, students access a full range of core courses and electives to create a personalized, college- or career-ready transcript. Beyond academics, enriching experiences spark creativity, critical thinking, and real-world application—so learning stays meaningful, inspiring, and fun.

Homeschool or Accredited Private School Status

We offer third-party accreditation through a local private school, giving families the flexibility to enroll as homeschoolers or through our partner school to earn accredited private school status. For the majority of students, accreditation does not need consideration until 8th or 9th grade, though it is available to those who desire it. All students will receive an accredited transcript as part of their enrollment package once they begin their freshman year or start Algebra 1 (whichever comes first).

4-Day Academic Model

As part of our balanced approach, we embrace a four-day academic work week, reserving one day for enrichment, family time, and/or personal interests. Within our four day week, we offer both full- and part-time attendance options: full-time students attend four on-campus academic days, while hybrid students attend two or three days on campus and complete . On Fridays, students may join us for a full day of enrichment in our Friday Quests program or they can reserve Fridays for personal pursuits and interests.

Friday Enrichment

Our Friday Quests program offers a power-packed day filled with exploration, discovery, creativity, and skill-building. Students participate in two skill-building quests in the morning and then enjoy a summer-camp-style free choice block after lunch that includes a selection of engaging workshops, creating or crafting in the wood shop or maker space, or enjoying games outdoors or in the game room!

Hybrid Home Study Curriculum

Home study is thoughtfully tailored to each family’s educational goals and preferred level of intensity. While “math is a must” (students must complete one math lesson per satellite day) — ELA remains flexible. We provide a "pick-and-choose" curriculum package tailored to your child with a clear weekly schedule that includes instruction and assignments covering what students miss on non-attendance days. Parents have the flexibility to choose what fits their child and family, creating a personalized and manageable experience. Families should be prepared for a minimum of 30 - 45 minutes of math per satellite day, along with 30 - 40 minutes per week of science and social studies content learning (videos, reading, research, etc.) an intermittent projects. The ELA package can be curated with home study selections spanning literature, composition, spelling, and grammar. This flexible plan allows ample time for personal interests, family time, enrichment classes, co-ops, niche programs, field trips, etc.

LEARNING COMMUNITY

Learners

Weatherstone learners are curious, creative, and engaged students who thrive in a respectful mainstream environment with purposeful learning, meaningful relationships, and a balanced workload in a stress-reduced setting. We welcome students working above, at, or approaching grade level.

Academic Placement

Students are grouped in flexible age bands with intentional overlap between grade levels, allowing us to consider both academic readiness and social maturity. This approach helps us thoughtfully build cohorts that provide the right balance of challenge, support, and peer connection for each learner. We offer a range of course levels, including honors and supported classes, so students can be appropriately challenged while receiving the support they need to grow with confidence.

Learning Support

Our small-group model and intentional cohort placement allow us to support a variety of learning profiles, including gifted and accelerated learners, as well as students with specific learning challenges such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or difficulty with math. Accommodations and modifications are naturally built naturally into the day-to-day routine, allowing students to access learning in ways that support their individual needs. Specialized reading or math remediation may also be added to a student’s schedule for an additional fee. We strive to create a calm, positive learning environment and are not equipped to support students with aggressive, non-compliant, or disruptive behaviors.
