INTRODUCTION

At EdVentures, we believe students learn best in a small, relaxed, stress-reduced, and supportive environment that ignites their innate desire to learn, discover, and explore. We embrace the ideal that "play" is the child's work, but we also recognize that in order to reach proficiency in reading, writing, and math, many students require consistent routines that provide explicit, engaging, and appropriately-leveled instruction.

For this reason, EdVentures has developed a uniquely blended program that offers BOTH academic (core skills) programs and "deep learning" labs where students get to explore and expand on knowledge through hands-on explorations and investigations. Each program we offer is delivered in a relaxed and enjoyable setting that puts the child's mental, emotional, and social health at the forefront of all that we do.

Our individualized programming make us an exceptional choice for gifted, neurotypical, and/or students presenting with mild learning challenges. Our small classes and cozy setting are conducive to students with anxiety or those who simply enjoy a quieter atmosphere. Academically, our Orton Gillingham based approach to reading instruction and our individualized math programming options provide outstanding learning opportunities for many students, including students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or mild processing disorders. We are not equipped to handle students with aggressive, disruptive, or disrespectful tendencies.

Our academic hybrids provide instruction in the core skill areas of ELA (reading instruction, comprehension, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, morphology, and writing), Math, Social Studies, and Science. Our multi-age learning community allows students to work in ability groups that support or challenge their needs appropriately in reading, writing, and math. We believe in quality over quantity and use an instructional approach that is effective, engaging, and fun. In-class and home study assignments effectively target the core standards and support development of the essential skills, without being overwhelming or tedious. Our curriculum is carefully curated to align with a hybrid schedule, providing two days of in-class instruction, paired with two days of home study curriculum.

Our primary students benefit from a multi-sensory, Orton Gillingham, phonics-based approach to learning reading, spelling, and writing. This approach is exceptional for new, struggling, dyslexic, and competent readers alike! For math, we use offer a variety curriculum options to meet the needs of each learner.
