EdV Studios are specialized micropod programs perfect for students who need a little more time, a little less pressure, and a lot support in getting their work done. Our students LOVE being part of a social system, but struggle academically and/or emotionally in more rigorous environments. They are driven, curious, creative, and engaged, but benefit from targeted instruction and support in foundational skills—reading, writing, spelling, and math—without the pressure of rigid deadlines or a red-pen approach. Whether your child needs general instruction, targeted support, or academic remediation, our evidence-based strategies strengthen academic foundations—all in a way that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and sets them up for success.

FRAMEWORK
Tailored Instruction
We provide tailored instruction in reading, writing, and math to help homeschooling parents give their children a strong foundation in the essentials. Our hands-on, structured approach ensures students build skills confidently and at their own pace, while parents can focus on guiding other subjects. It’s flexible, supportive, and designed to make the homeschooling journey easier and more effective.
Support & Intervention
For students who need targeted support to fill in gaps, this program provides specific, individualized instruction in reading and math. Students are placed in ability-based cohorts, ensuring lessons meet their current skill level and learning needs. Using Orton-Gillingham and other evidence-based strategies, we focus on decoding, encoding, comprehension, and math foundations to help students build confidence, mastery, and lasting success.
Remediation
For students who require intervention beyond a small-group learning environment, remediation may be available at an extra cost. Dedicated teachers with expertise in reading, writing, and math intervention provide one-on-one or paired instruction using evidence-based strategies, including Orton-Gillingham and other structured literacy approaches. These personalized sessions deliver targeted support while students remain part of a shared community.
CURATED SUPPORT CURRICULUM
Structured Literacy: Reading
Our reading instruction is built on the trusted Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach—a proven, evidence-based method that helps students become confident, independent readers. Through explicit, multisensory lessons, students master how sounds, letters, and patterns work together to form words. As skills grow, instruction expands to include syllabication and morphology, empowering stronger readers to decode multi-syllabic words, understand word parts, and build lasting vocabulary and comprehension.
Structured Literacy: Spelling
Our spelling instruction uses the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach to help students become confident, independent spellers. Through explicit, multisensory lessons, students develop phonemic awareness strategies to hear, segment, and manipulate sounds in words. Instruction covers encoding high-frequency words, as well as syllabication and morphology, enabling students to spell multi-syllabic words accurately, understand word structure, and strengthen overall literacy skills.
Writing & Composition
Our explicit and structured writing program guides students step by step in developing clear and effective writing. Beginning with sentence construction, students progress to paragraphs and ultimately full essays, learning how to organize ideas, use proper grammar, and communicate with clarity. The program combines direct instruction, modeling, and guided practice, giving students the tools and confidence to express their thoughts confidently in writing.
Math Facts & Fluency
Our program helps students build fluency with math facts using engaging, hands-on strategies. Through cooperative games, visualizations, and memory techniques, students strengthen recall, deepen understanding, and gain confidence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These interactive methods make learning fun, memorable, and effective, supporting students as they progress to more complex math concepts.
Math Instruction
Our leveled math program places students in ability-based groups to provide targeted instruction and support tailored to their current skills. Students engage in hands-on, structured lessons that build confidence and mastery at their own pace. Two days of home study using our preferred curriculum, Math with Confidence, complement in-class learning, giving students the opportunity to practice, reinforce, and apply concepts while parents support their broader homeschooling journey.
Parent-Led Enrichment Co-Op
Our afternoon parent-led co-op option offers homeschool families enrolled in our learning support pod the chance to participate in afternoon enrichment activities, including science, social studies, fitness, and more. Parent participation is required, fostering a collaborative learning environment where students can explore new subjects, build skills, and have fun. This program emphasizes connection and community, allowing families to engage together while students enjoy hands-on, social, and enriching experiences.
